Didde Gears

All of our gears are manufactured to OEM specifications. At Independent Press Supply, Quality and Functionality comes FIRST!

Worm Gears are right angle drives providing large speed ratios on comparatively short center distances from 1/4” to 11”. When properly mounted and lubricated they function as the quietist and smoothest running type of gearing. Because of the high ratios possible with worm gearing, maximum speed reduction can be accomplished in less space than many other types of gearing. Worm and worm gears operate on non-intersecting shafts at 90° angles.

Spur Gears are the most popular form and the most efficient type of gearing for the cost when transmitting power and uniform rotary motion from one parallel shaft to another. Within the limitations of center distance, spur gears provide a positive, constant speed drive, the speed of which may be increased or decreased by increasing or decreasing the number of teeth in the driving gear.

Spur Gears may be operated in a “gear-train” of two or more gears but they must all be of the same diameter pitch and pressure angle. Gears with 14-1/2° pressure angle will not operate with those cut to 20° pressure angle.

Timing belts and pulleys offer a positive drive through the engagement of the molded teeth in the belt with accurately spaced grooves on the pulley. The action of the belt teeth entering and leaving the pulley grooves is positive, smoother operating and more silent than other types of drives.

Sprockets are used in many power transmission drive systems as a continuous drive mechanism that can accommodate large center distances. Sprockets can be made from many different materials including steel, stainless steel, plastic, nylon, bronze, aluminum and many more.
